Summary: It should have been the simplest of skip grabs, but clearly her life wasn’t meant to be simple. Now she’s banged up and stuck in a hospital bed in the care of a disturbingly attractive male nurse who sees her as a captive audience for his terrible puns. Like she said, her life clearly wasn’t meant to be simple. (mention of minor injuries, mention of supporting character death)
Author’s Note: How do you know when a story has officially gotten away from you? When the first two chapters are 5,000 words each and the third (and final) chapter is 12 words short of 13,000, that’s how. Ah, oops?
