A Christmas Fairytale

Once Upon a Time, there lived a little girl in a land where the very air sparkled with magic, where the birds sang melodies in tandem with the waves, where the trees grew wild and tall, where flowers smelled like the richest honey. But, the little girl did not know magic for she was small and alone, her little heart too bruised and cold in the harsh nights of winter.

But one night, when her arms shiver and her soul shivers too, she makes a wish. A desperate cry for help to the stars that twinkle over her, to the wind that whispers in her ear. She wishes for warmth, for safety, for never having to feel hurt again. She wishes and wishes, never hoping, never knowing that it may be granted.

But unbeknownst to her, a fairy hears her cry and cannot help but grant the little girl’s wish. She waves her arms and a star falls from the sky.
