A/N: I hope you like this take. I’ve been in a Harry Potter state of mind, so here’s a Hogwarts AU, with secret dating+Captain Book brotp. Normally, I place Killian in Hufflepuff, but Ravenclaw worked best for this story.
It’s late when Killian stumbles back into Ravenclaw Tower, his heart
doing it best to beat out of his chest at the memory of Emma’s lips moving
against his own, their bodies pressed together in the shadowed corridors of the
castle. Even parted, Emma still drives him to distraction, and he’s barely able
to formulate an answer to riddle – “What
belongs to you but others use it more than you do?” “A name.” – not that he
minds too much. He would gladly spend the entire night outside of the tower if
it meant more time spent in Emma’s arms. But, Killian can’t help but feel
pleased that he’s able to sleep in his own bed in the dormitory. There’s
a fire burning in the common room, and he feels his heart pound in his chest
for a different reason. His mind begins to work into overdrive in an attempt to
formulate an excuse for why he was wandering around the castle so late at
night. He supposes detention might be believable. He’s been in and out of it
enough that it’s not like anyone would doubt him.His
visibly reacts, however, once he sees that it is only Belle in the common room,
her nose in a book, and her cat, Cheshire, curled on her lap.“Hello,
Killian,” she says, not bothering to look up from her textbook. Her lips upturn
into a small smirk, however, evidence that she’s onto where’s he’s been and
just what he’s been doing. As far as he is aware, Belle is the only person who knows about his and Emma’s
relationship. It wasn’t by choice, but rather her coming across them in one of
the back corners of the library. Her resulting squeal had been loud enough to
almost sick Madam Pince on them. She has thankfully kept their secret, no
thanks to considerable begging on his part. Not that Belle is, or has ever
been, a gossip.“Aren’t
you up a little late to be studying?” he asks her, flopping onto one of the
overlarge chair. Cheshire eyes him warily before deciding to leave his perch on
Belle’s lap for Killian. Killian scratching the cat behind its ears.“I
wanted to get my reading out of the way before the House Cup this weekend,” she
responds as she marks her spot in the textbook. Belle turns to him, a wry smile
on her face. “Ravenclaw plays Gryffindor. I’ve been told it’s going to be a big
one.”Killian
doesn’t need a reminder for the significance of the match. As Captain of the
Ravenclaw Quidditch team, he knows very what a victory will mean for the House
and his team. As the secret boyfriend to the Gryffindor Seeker, he also knows
what this may mean for his relationship. It is, after all, the entire reason
they had kept everything under wraps. Neither of them had wanted to deal with
the accusations that either of them hadn’t tried their best in the match.(Which is an utter load of bollocks, of course, because one of Killian’s
favorite aspects of his relationship with Emma was how she always pushed him to
be better.)But,
after the match is over – and Ravenclaw wins, of course – they will slowly come
forward with their relationship, and make both their Houses believe they got
together after the fact. Belle thinks the plan is completely silly – “The world
doesn’t revolve around Quidditch, you know!” – but she support them, as long as
he is happy and she doesn’t have to stumble upon them snogging anymore.Killian will be happy when he no longer has to worry about people stumbling
upon them snogging, either. Or rather, he’ll be happy once he no longer has to
keep their relationship a secret. He’s counting down the days until he can show
to all of Hogwarts that Emma Swan has captured his heart as easily as she can
capture the Snitch – upcoming match excluded. He longs to take her on a date to
Hogsmeade, to spend their free time after exams curled by the lake. He even
wants to sit with her in the same compartment on the Hogwarts Express as they
travel back to King’s Cross. Mainly, he wants to kiss her and not care who’s
watching.He
sighs. Just a few more days until they can slowly begin going public.Ravenclaw
just needs to beat Gryffindor first.
