» The Curse

 As an act
of revenge against the rulers of Misthaven, an evil witch curses their newborn
daughter with the horrible curse.  

Most of her childhood Emma spent in seclusion, preparing herself for life under the curse. She continued to do so after the curse came. That didn’t stop Killian Jones,
one of her father’s naval officers, from becoming one of her closest friends.

Not wanting to risk the lives of people she loved, by trying to break the curse with the true love’s kiss, Emma decided to run away, and search for another solution on
her own. Of course, Killian, who would never let her go through this alone, followed her.

After the vague, but hopeful answer they got from the Seer, they took Killian’s ship and traveled back home. However, luck was not on their side, for their ship was hit by a storm and they found themselves fighting for their lives in the depths of the ocean. Emma came through unscathed, Killian did not. With nothing left to lose Emma tried to bring him back to life. She succeeded and inadvertently broke the curse with the true love’s kiss. 

Needles to say they returned home sharing the happy news with everyone, and making plans for the future they were looking forward to.
