“bei mir bist du schon” by the andrews sisters (listen to it and you’ll see why i picked this scenario)
“Emma, are you sure about this?”
Emma smiled, keeping her lips closed lest she screw up her lipstick. She reached for her teacup, blowing across the rim and watching the steam dissipate with her breath.
“David, I’ll be fine. It’s an assignment like any other, right?”
“I suppose.” David shifted his shoulders, clearly uncomfortable with both the scenario and the civilian togs he was forced to wear. “It’s just…”
“I know. It’s dangerous, but this is our best shot at,” and she dropped her voice for the last word, “infiltrating.” David joined her in lowering his head; neither wished to be overheard. Meeting in public was the best way at this stage–Emma was still an unknown on the continent, and Mary Margaret was an excellent document forger; even still, they needed to be careful.
“You’ll find travel papers for the two of you along with some cash and the new cipher,” David murmured, stirring his tea before removing his spoon with a sigh. He sat up and fixed her with watery eyes full of blue concern. “I’ll ask you one last time: are you sure about this?”
