Attention all Captain Swan authors and artists! We are pleased to announce the 2018 Captain Swan Little Bang!
The Captain Swan Little Bang is a collaborative project in which authors write one-shot stories, and artists make complemetary artwork.
Over the course of the Little Bang, authors and artists will be able to connect with each other to form a community, to help, encourage, and motivate each other during the process. We’ll also be posting author and artist spotlights to get the whole CS fandom excited about the end results!
It’ll be relatively similar to the 2017 Big Bang, but with some key differences:
Story length
Instead of writing a lengthy multi-chapter fic, participants will be writing one-shot stories! Stories will need to be between 7.5k and 15k words long.
Artwork amount
Since stories will be so much shorter for the Little Bang, the minimum amount of artwork has also decreased! See the rules for more details!
Shorter schedule
This is a much shorter project than the Big Bang, and therefore the schedule is also much shorter. Authors will have between two and three months to write, and artists will have just over a month to make artwork. Posting begins in February; see the schedule for more info!
No Snippets
Because of the shorter schedule and the fact that people will be writing one-shots instead of multi-chapter fics, we won’t be doing Snippets this time around. We will still be doing Spotlights!
Will there be a 2018 Captain Swan Big Bang?
You’ll have to tell us! In order to run a Big Bang, we’ll need sufficient fandom interest, especially from authors. We’ll be sending out exit surveys to our 2017 CSBB authors and artists soon so we can figure out what changes will be made to improve the project. So if you’re interested in participating in a 2018 Big Bang, drop us a line to let us know!
