missing you (A Tall Tail), for MerMay

Summary: Based on a prompt from @xpumpkindumplingx, Emma is missing her merman, so arranges for some alone time under the sea. (Set in the A Tall Tail universe, some time after their daughter is born but a couple years before their son arrives) | 2k | rated M

Life with a little one was certainly the noisy, chaotic adventure Killian had expected, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. But he hated the days he had to venture out to the sea to sate his merman side, lest he start a whirlpool in a sippy cup or at bathtime (the latter did tend to delight his daughter, though).

Emma had practically pushed him out the door today after the odd sloshing they heard coming from the dishwasher. He always felt guilty, leaving her with the babe on her own, and feared he’d miss out on something. He hadn’t yet, but what if today was the day she started walking? Emma had assured him it would be fine, though, and she’d see him later when his powers weren’t causing mayhem.

His magic had calmed some since he came down below, resting in their favorite kelp bed, but the more he thought about his wife, the more they began to flex again, creating a gentle whirlpool around him that warped the sun’s light streaming down through the water.

True Love had once seemed a daunting label for their relationship, but now, it didn’t seem a strong enough identifier for the woman who had helped pull him from a dead-ended path, stayed at his side through life-altering adventures, and made him a father. He loved her impossibly more each day and was longing to show her just how much.

Gods, just the thought of her had him aroused. He slid his palm down the plane of his stomach, past where skin turned to scale, and pulled his manhood out from the slit that covered it. He gave it a firm stroke, the image of his beautiful wife in his mind. And another. And another, this one drawing a sigh from his lips.

He supposed it was the merman part of him that was envisioning her with her tail, swimming gracefully as sunlight glinted off her emerald scales and highlighted the treasured gold speckled throughout it. She was gorgeous in any form, but oh, did Emma make an incredible mermaid.

His pace increased as his erection grew firmer in hand, and though his eyes were closed, he was still aware of the bubbles dancing around him created from the swirling current that matched the coil of tension wrapping around his spine, from low in his back to the end of his fins.

And all the while, the vision of his wife danced in his mind’s eye, bringing him closer and closer to the edge. “Oh, Emma,” he sighed on his next stroke, squeezing even harder and brushing the tip, bucking his hips involuntarily.

“Yes?”
