Out of the Frying Pan

welllpthisishappening:

Emma Swan is only doing this for one reason, well, make that two. To get her show’s numbers back up and, maybe, impress her son. She doesn’t like admitting to that second one though.

Killian Jones is doing this for absolutely, positively, just one reason. To expand his restaurant. And maybe get Regina off his back. So that’s kind of two reasons.

Neither one of them is doing a year-long Food Network all-star competition because they’re celebrity chefs and there’s not really any other choice. Of course not. And neither one of them is enjoying it because they maybe, kind of, sort of enjoy each other. That would be insane.

It’s a Funny Old Game

Killian’s not sure why he agreed to this. Well, no, that’s not true. He does. Because Henry asked. And, well, maybe they’re some kind of family now.

Emma’s not sure why she hasn’t said anything. Well, no, that’s not true. She does. Because she’s not supposed to. And, well, things were pretty good already.

Or: A quasi Out of the Frying Pan sequel with soccer.

The Anti-Pumpkin Brigade

Emma has a plan. Or, rather, a schedule. And she’s not following either. Not for lack of trying, but before she can get to either one she has to contend with mandatory couple costumes and her kid tucked away in some corner and avoiding pumpkin at all costs.

Killian has a plan. Or, at least, part of a plan. And a list that seems to grow every single day. But before he can get to either one he has to stand under bright lights and ignore how much foundation Henry’s wearing and refuse to bake with pumpkin.

Or: A Halloween!Out of the Frying Pan almost sequel

In the spirit of the OUAT Fandom Crescendo, here are some more words of mine. This story came from a Cutthroat Kitchen marathon and two competitors being tied together while they cooked and I literally turned to my husband, said, this is a fic and he said write it. So, I did. It is the running joke in our house that this story got any hits at all because I cannot cook. Like. At all. I did more research for this story and the recipes in this story than literally anything else (except maybe AngstFest2k17, but husband was my No. 1 source on that one) and I can’t thank you guys enough for reading this and enjoying the banter and the food and the kissing in hallways. @distant-rose made the banner because she’s fantastic.

Captain Swan AUHigh School AU – Serendipity

Having
different interests and not going to the same school meant they probably
would’ve never met, but when something is meant to be it is meant to be. All it
took was one chance meeting, and they were both gone, not that they’d tell that
to each other. They took their shot at being friends first, until they got to the point where confessing their feelings to each other wasn’t too scary.
