Summary: Normally quiet and sleepy, Storybrooke, Maine has been going through the polar opposite of a crime wave. There hasn’t been even so much as an incident of shoplifting in MONTHS. Until the day an anonymous graffiti artist starts leaving murals and street art all over prominent town buildings. Who’s behind it? Why don’t the townspeople want to press charges if/when the “vandal” is caught? And what does all of this have to do with Sheriff Emma Swan and local bakery owner Killian Jones?
She walked into the room before she lost her nerve. Her heart constricted when she saw him sitting behind his desk, back turned to her as did something with a stack of papers. “Just a moment, and I’ll be finished here,” he called over his shoulder.
“Take your time.” There was a catch in her voice as she tried to keep her composure.
Killian recognized her voice – there was a sharp intake of breath as his back stiffened and he spun around in his chair to face her. His eyes widened as he took her in. “Swan?”
“Hi,” she whispered.
I’m so excited to finally be posting the art for this amazing fic by Meredith, which I think that you all should go and read. I loved reading it and I loved drawing the art to go with it. As I read this scene, I knew immediately that it was the one that I wanted to draw! I was a little nervous since this is actually the first piece of fanart I’ve posted on Tumblr, and I didn’t know if I would be any good at it. But I enjoyed it so much I kinda don’t care if it’s perfect. I love it still!
This was a challenge to draw, I’m not going to lie. The perspective was a beast and it almost got the better of me, but thankfully @clockadile helped me out, so really she deserves an epically big shout out and thank you. Would not have been able to get this scene right without her advice and help. (It’s still not perfect, but I do like it.)
I would also like to thank the CSLB mods for organizing it and matching me up with this fic! Another shout out goes to the awesome group of authors and writers who participated in the Discord and I got to know. Definitely made friends through this, and I’m so happy I signed up.
Obviously, medium was pencil and paper, scanned in. Someday I might do a second go at it and fix some of the perspective issues and neaten it up in a completely digital method. For now, though, this is it.
Granny’s restaurant is the perfect place for a romantic dinner. The only problem is that Killian doesn’t want to be on this date in the first place. And Emma definitely doesn’t want to be taken off her waitressing shift to be the saviour of this guy who’s definitely been stood up.

(I had the immense pleasure of creating artwork as a companion piece to @ab-normality‘s story for the CSLB @captainswanbigbang this year. It is a lovely story, so please go read!!)
Credit and eternal gratitude go to: @katealexandra26 for being the world’s best beta, @slow-smiles for lovely artwork, @fictional-redheads for the original idea, and all of the wonderful folks from @cslb, in which none of this exists.
