Emma’s
eyes opened and she looked around her darkened bedroom curiously. She wasn’t
quite sure what had woken her, but her heart was racing as though danger were
close by.
She had almost convinced herself
that she must have been woken by her dream when she heard a loud thump from her
living room.
Fucking thieves trying their luck
on Christmas Eve! Emma fumed
internally. The joke was on them: there were no presents sitting under a tree
as easy pickings for them. There wasn’t even a tree. They had chosen to break
into Scrooge’s house and they were going to be sorely disappointed.
But that didn’t mean she was going
to let them off easily.
She reached in her drawer and
pulled out her nail scissors then crept cautiously down the hall. She spotted
the shadowy figure crouched on the floor at once and moved closer hardly daring
to breathe lest the intruder heard her. She grabbed them by the hair and pulled
their head back, wrapping her arm around their neck in a chokehold and pressing
her scissors against their cheek.
“Bloody hell!” came the startled
cry from the intruder who she now realised could be none other than her best
friend. “Killian?” she asked, releasing him
at once. “What the hell are you doing?” she yelled as she hastily moved to
switch on the light.
All three of them wanted to make the first Christmas they would celebrate in their new house memorable. So, they put up Christmas lights together, and even though there was room for improvement, they all agreed that the house looked perfect as it was.
Merry Christmas @howemmafoundherhome! It was lovely to get to know you this month, I apologize about how infrequent my messages have been, and how late this is being posted. I hope you like this!
I hope you have a wonderful holiday with your family, and a Happy New Year!
a little out of order
Sometimes things happen out of the order they’re ‘supposed to’. Meet someone, go on dates, first kiss, first time you invite them in after a date, first time you see them with sex-and-bedhead and wearing rumpled clothes from last night and drinking out of your favorite coffee mug. You know, first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes baby in a baby carriage.
Well, doing things out of order seems to be their M.O. and it honestly Emma prefers it their way.
(Unearth someone from a pile of corpses and then threaten him at knifepoint, first beanstalk, first kiss, first curse, first time travel adventure to ensure she was actually born… and so on. Their M.O. is, admittedly, weird.)
Wanted to say a Merry Christmas to all of my wonderful followers! Thank you guys for being so incredible, I’m seriously so thankful for you all ❤ Love you guys, and hope you’re all having a great holiday season!!
