Three times Hook and Emma spend the holiday season together, from enemies to friends to something more.
My CS Secret Santa gift to @hamiltno, who’s shipped them since the beginning, so I wanted to write something that showed the progression of their relationship through the years. Hope you like it! ✨
When Emma doesn’t tell Killian a thing about the Charmings’ Christmas gathering, he feels a bit down. But of course, he’s still not really truly part of the family yet, he couldn’t really expect to be a guest for the gathering. So he decides to spend Christmas in his trustworthy Jolly Roger.
Mistletoe.
Mistletoe everywhere.
His eyes can see nothing of his lodgings but the tiny plant, hanging from every possible place. Well, that’s an exaggeration, after all, it’s just the roof that’s covered. But he still can’t look away.
“Merry Christmas, Killian.” a sweet and playful voice calls from the back of the room. That voice. His face cracks into a smirk as he steps into the room, stopping right under the first mistletoe.
“Think you’re so funny, Swan?” he jokes as Emma walks up to him, a mischievous glint in her eyes. She dances a bit, her dress skirts moving like a bell, and smiles openly at him.
“I know I am, Killian.” standing on her tiptoes, she places both hands on his chest and plants a loving peck on his smiling lips. “I thought we could spend our first Christmas together, well, together.”
“What about your family?”
“Family lunch tomorrow. Tonight, it’s just ours.”
That word fills him up with a warmth he simply doesn’t want to let go. Then, places a soft kiss on her eyebrow, “Ours.”
⛄ CS Hiatus Countdown ❄️ (79 days) + CS Winter Hiatus Meme:A Captain Swan Christmas (Emma and Killian escape the cold winter night and return home for some hot chocolate with cinnamon and the long overdue star wars movie marathon. But, in the end, they move on to more enjoyable activities.)
If it’s the
straw that broke the camel’s back, then it’s his smug smile that breaks Emma’s
carefully constructed self-control. The self-control that was, coincidentally,
keeping her from breaking him.
“Hey, Mary Margaret, you remember how Killian said that he’d be
going to visit his family so he’d have to miss out on the Christmas party this
year? Well, his plane doesn’t leave until the 22nd so you’re just in luck, he can
make it after all.”
His eyes widen, smug smile dropping fast, and it’s Emma’s turn to
make faces behind Mary Margaret’s back, those faces being a pleased grin and
accompanied by finger guns “you stab me in the back, I’m going to shoot you in
yours, never bring a knife to a gunfight, Jones.”
She sees the problem with this after Killian’s stumbled his way
through another host of reasons he can’t go, all of them shut down by Mary
Margaret’s unwavering enthusiasm – “If you truly have that much packing to do,
I’ll come over on Tuesday and help you out!” After he insists that he truly
doesn’t need that, actually he can pack all of it on Tuesday himself, and he’ll
be ready for the party on Thursday, Emma realizes the massive problem with this
situation.
She’s Indy here – and goddammit, she’d make an excellent sometimes
professor, most times Nazi puncher – but Killian’s definitely Harrison Ford in
the Fugitive, tenacious and hell-bent on getting justice.
White Christmas (movie) AU: In the mid-1950s, David Nolan and Killian Jones, navy vets and business partners, meet Emma and Mary Margaret Blanchard, a sister act, in Florida. The chance encounter leads them to follow the sisters to Maine for the holiday. Will it be love?
Last year, I wrote this five-part AU based on one of my favorite holiday movies. Just wanted to repost in case anyone felt like some vintage holiday cheer and watching Captain Swan and Snowing fall in love!
Besides the many Christmas presents all over the floor making Emma write a mental note to ask Henry to put them somewhere else later, another thing catches her attention.
– What’s up with the Santa hat, Killian?
– Henry said it was tradition in this realm, Swan.
– Oh, did he?
Emma makes a huge effort not to laugh at her pirate, but he looks so cute, it’s impossible not to smile at how adorably clueless he is. And why not make up for the little prank her son pulled on him…
– And did he also told you about mistletoe?
– Mistle… what?
– That little plant over our heads. Well, it’s common knowledge that if two people stand together under the mistletoe they must kiss.
While Killian looks up at the ceiling, Emma pulls him to herself and they share a loving kiss and before it gets out of hand, Emma breaks the kiss.
– Easy, tiger, we got company… for now.
Emma winks at him, while he stands there smiling at her.
– I quite like that tradition, love.
– Oh, if you like that, wait until you see your present.
They press their foreheads together, enjoying their quiet moment.
Meanwhile, Henry and Violet are too immersed in their own conversation, not even noticing the two silly adults who look more like teenagers than themselves.
Merry Christmas to all my followers, friends and shipmates. May this be a blessed Christmas to all. And if you don’t celebrate Christmas, have a beautiful day!
