A little season 4 canon divergence, set during the peaceful 6 weeks, because it always bothered me that nobody ever seems to be much interested in learning about Killian’s troubled past, even if it was “like a million years ago”. And it’s not like he’s got nothing to tell. @effulgentcolors and @thesschesthair are partly to blame.
summary: during the peaceful 6 weeks after Gold’s banishment, Emma is determined to find out more about Killian’s beginnings
It’s
been four weeks now that Gold was forced to leave town, no other
threats have presented themselves, and the feeling of peace is almost
unreal. Since the first curse has been broken, there hasn’t been such
a long period without a villain’s scheme of some sort looming over
Storybrooke.
But
Emma doesn’t complain; even though this period of quietude doesn’t
give only the opportunity for pleasurable occupations, it’s still an
important chance to process things, to deal with experiences that
could easily leave unnoticed marks if swept under the rug. And it’s
so tempting to forget some of the stuff that has happened, and not so
long ago she maybe would have been inclined to do exactly that, but
she knows better now. Her new self is determined to quit running
away, and that includes not suppressing feelings, not even unpleasant
ones such as worries and fears.
So,
she’s trying to deal with what happened, in particular with Killian
being under the control of Gold, his heart ripped out, and almost
killed by his old nemesis. My oldest friend, he’d called him
in cruel mockery. Emma can’t even begin to imagine what that must
have felt like for Killian, to be forced to do terrible things, to
know his loved ones were in the very real danger to be sacrificed for
Gold’s quest to free himself from the dagger, and to know that his
life was doomed and that his own unavoidable death would ultimately
allow The Dark One what he’d always wanted: to have infinite power,
be free from the command of the dagger, and keep the woman he
loved… well, in his own twisted way.
He didn’t really have time. There were…things. Stuff. Packing. Kissing his fiancée as much as humanly possible.
Because he had a fiancée now and impending fatherhood wasn’t nearly as intimidating as calling his brother from the other side of the world to tell him about both of those things.
So maybe he was avoiding it and, maybe, sometimes the more things changed the more they stayed the same.
Words: 5.5K of Jones Brothers feelz. Rating: The lowest common denominator of T because I can’t write a story without someone swearing AN: I got an anon a couple days ago asking about Liam’s reaction to finding out the news of Mattie Jones and if he’d be around when Killian and Emma told the Vankalds and my mind was like ok, we can do that in a drabble of some sort and then my mind laughed at itself because what even is a drabble? So here’s this instead. And eventually I really will write Killian and Emma telling the Vankalds because the Vankalds would freak and buy several thousand dollars of Rangers-branded baby merchandise. Thanks for still loving this stupid hockey team, guys. It’s the best. Also on Ao3 if that’s how you roll.
“Call him.”
“I texted him before.”
“Call him.”
“I have no idea what time it is at home. And then I’ve got to figure out the time difference for Colorado and–”
Emma has had a shitty day, an absolutely shitty day. But Killian knows exactly what will cheer her up. Domestic Fluff that involves a very dorky Killian Jones trying (and succeeding) to cheer up his wife.

Author’s Note: So this is basically a little snippet of an AU Cursed series I’m working on, it is a long work in progress, but I don’t know why I am quite happy with this particular bit. My friend encouraged me to post it so here it is I guess. I really hope you’ll enjoy this.
She pulled into the driveway, the gravel crunching beneath the rubber tires of the bug. It was chilly outside, the wind whipped through her hair as she stepped out of the car.She sighed into the cold night air, her exasperated breath condensing into a fog in the chilly wind, which dissolved into the atmosphere. She had a bad day, a really shitty one. All she wanted now was to go home and cuddle with her husband and her kid, if he was even awake. She had texted him throughout the day, their conversation was the only thing that got her through it. She opened the front doors and stepped into her house, she was immediately enveloped into a cosy warmth and met with the aroma of freshly baked cookies. She turned her head to the kitchen, and sure enough, a batch of cookies were in sight. She heard footfalls coming from the stairway and directed her attention there, she was greeted by her husband, donned in flannel and an apron she had jokingly got him for his birthday, it was a frilly pink one printed with middlemist flowers and the letters “Kiss the cook” emblazoned on it. She couldn’t help but giggle at her dorky husband, this was one of the many things she loved about him, he knew exactly how to cheer her up. She watched as her husband strolled over to the radio, appreciating how the tight jeans he wore clung to his ass. He turned on the radio, Voices by cheap trick was on. Perfect timing, of course it was, this was Killian Jones, the hopeless romantic that she called her husband. That was their song. He turned around and grinned, cheekily, he grabbed the plastic spatula that was still covered in cookie batter and held it to his mouth, and god dammit he started singing. The words flowed easily out of his mouth as he maintained eye contact with her, a brazen glint in his eye.
“
Hey, it’s me again Plain to see again Please, can I see you every day? I’m a fool again I fell in love with you again Please, can I see you every day?
“
She chortled at her husband’s antics and joined in, at this point, he had chucked the spatula aside and pulled her towards him, they swayed in beat to the music.
“You didn’t know what you were looking for Till you heard the voices in your ear You didn’t know what you were looking for Till you heard the voices in your ear”
The song eventually ended, and their forehead’s touched as the song faded away. The DJ on the radio started talking again, to introduce the next song.
“That was Voices by Cheap Trick, dedicated to Emma Jones by her dashing rapscallion of a husband, Killian who I hope timed this right as he said he would. You crazy kids have a good night, next up we have Piano Man by Billy Joel…”
She pressed her lips to his and closed her eyes, revelling in the sensation of his soft lips against hers.
“I love you, Killian Jones.”
“And I You Emma Jones.” He replied as he tucked a loose strand of her hair behind her ear.
“The lad was devasted that Mummy couldn’t make it back in time for his story tonight.”
“I was caught up at school, the principal, Walsh is so unreasonable! I’ll make it up to him tomorrow, Thanks for cheering me up baby, you always know what I need. Now, your other child wants some cookies.”
She said as she rubbed her bump, he smiled at her, bent down and placed a kiss on said belly.

* Let’s say 17 year old Emma got away from the cops when Neal set her up. * Let’s say the Brothers Jones joined the Circus instead of the Royal Navy. Let’s also say they can shape-shift into big, black jaguars. * What kind of antics can teenage!CS get into in a modern world where magic is real? Can a lost girl find her home among the “Circus Freaks”?
Grab your popcorn – the show’s about to start!
Rating/Warnings: T for swearing, sexual innuendo, brief non-graphic description of character/animal injury

Many (MANY!!!) thanks to
the wonderful people I worked with on this project: my beta @blackwidownat2814 who was so encouraging when I wanted to throw my laptop out the window, and artist @amorecolorfulmoniker who made such beautiful, beautiful pictures for the story! {artwork link coming soon} You have both been a pleasure and a delight.
“Have you actually attended one of our performances, Miss…?”
“Swan. Emma Swan. And no.”
“Miss Swan. This Circus is unique. It’s a safe haven for individuals with unique abilities.”
“You mean freaks and weirdos?”
The Ringmaster scowled. “Not quite. More accurately, our performers are not exactly of this world. Sometimes they come here knowing what they are, sometimes the talent is latent, and yet this place draws them like a beacon.”
Emma held up a hand to stop the monologue. She’d heard people talking in town about this amazing circus where the magic almost seemed real, but she didn’t need a sales pitch. She needed a place to hide.
Summary: After several years living in Storybrooke, Killian has adapted quite well to the modern world, becoming an expert in the use of technology. When Snow and David return from a camping weekend, Emma and Killian decide to emulate Emma’s parents and a challenge arises between them to see if they are able to spend an entire weekend without electricity. Canon compliant/future.
A/N: I still can’t believe it, but it’s here! After several months working on this story, it’s time to finally post my small contribution to Captain Swan Little Bang 2018. First of all, I’d like to express my gratitude to the mods for making this possible and for giving me the opportunity to participate. Hannah, @hookedonapirate , thank you so much for your dedication, for all your help, and for your suggestions. In short, thanks for being such an amazing beta. I’d also like to thank @giraffes-ride-swordfishes for your suggestions and for contributing with your wonderful fan art. I’m so in love with the illustration… the sky, the effect of the fire, Emma’s hair… everything is perfect.
My last thanks go to @saraswans , I will never be able to thank you enough for everything you do for me, especially with this story. You better than anyone else know how much I’ve struggled with this fic. This wouldn’t be the same without your constant support. Thanks also to @suwya , for your words of encouragement and for taking a look at the first part.
Here we go… I hope you like it 🙂
Pirate Tech
The Challenge
The first clear sign that Killian had begun to adapt to the modern world and the use of technologies came one day when Emma had arrived home from her shift at the station. She hadn’t expected to see her husband and son at home because, in the words of her own husband, the lad and I are going to practice some sword fighting, love.
The image that she found when opening the front door was surprising. In fact, Killian and Henry were practicing, but what she didn’t expect was that the sword fighting took place in their own living room, and, even less, that they were practicing through a damn video game.
Her husband was fully involved in the game, sitting on the edge of the couch, his jaw clenched, muscles tense. His hand and hook were forcefully gripping the adapted control as he stared at the screen with a steel look that held the ability to intimidate the fiercest rival.
Her son, on the other hand, didn’t offer a better image; his gaze was focused on the image on the screen while his fingers moved frantically on the control keys.
“That was a dirty move, lad. Bad form,” Killian groaned under his breath without taking his eyes off the screen.
Henry chuckled at his side. “I had a good teacher.” And just like that, her son disarmed the pirate and proclaimed himself the winner. Virtual winner, that is.
A few months later, Henry ventured off to find his own story, leaving the house sad and lonely. Her husband’s new hobby lasted but Emma could tell how heavy Henry’s absence lingered in those moments. Maybe that’s why she decided to replace Henry in those fights, to accompany Killian, who seemed lost without Henry at his side. She would never admit it out loud, but she thought maybe there could be another reason, or maybe not. Maybe she found the fact that she could finally defeat the dreaded Captain Hook in a sword fight, revitalizing.
AN: WOW! I’m so excited that I can FINALLY share this with you all! I’ve
worked really hard on this for a really long time, but I haven’t worked on it

encouragement, and all the fun I had during this project. Thank you to my
salt-shakers. You know who you are. I love you guys.
Anyway, here it is, hope you enjoy it! Let me know what you think!
The first time Emma
officially met him, Killian was sleeping (snoring, she might add) in Professor
Highly’s College Algebra class.
She was honestly
trying to pay attention. Really. Imaginary numbers fascinate her. But his
rhythmic snoring directly to her left was grating on her very thin patience.
“Psst. Hey! You!” She
whispered, slightly shaking his arm. He didn’t respond to her. She shook his
arm a bit more vigorously.
“Seriously?” She rolled her eyes, hoping the
professor at the lectern wouldn’t notice the disruption. She wasn’t trying to
get anyone in trouble. She just wanted him to shut the hell up and stop
snoring. She supposed there was an added benefit of keeping Professor Highly
from going on one of her now notorious rampages over slumbering students, but
Emma was more concerned with the little whistle that sounded at the end of
every exhalation. She considered leaving him alone and letting him get caught.
She had done her part in shaking him after all.
Still, she reasoned,
no one deserved Professor Highly’s infamous wrath. Giving a glance in either
direction for any unwanted audience, she kicked him (maybe harder than she
needed to).
Summary: Princess Emma is seeking answers. Captain Killian Jones is seeking revenge. Their paths converge in front of the Great Gate of Danann. Reluctantly, Emma chooses to place her trust in him and work together. But Killian seems to be stuck in the past and Emma is terrified of the future. Both must face the consequences of their choices and live with them for the rest of their lives. And for the Fae, that’s a very, very long time indeed.

Content Warnings: Explicit sexual content, potential dubious consent between a married couple, brief mentions of past abusive relationship, graphic violence, major character death, revenge, and murder
Author’s Note: Here is my contribution to the 2018 Captain Swan Little Bang. This is the single longest completed story that I’ve ever written and I am so happy it’s finally time to post this.
So I decided to scrap my original idea 1 week before the final deadline and go with a different Fae story. I wrote over 15,000 words in 7 days (before it was trimmed down to the current version). I got to tell the story I wanted and still managed to include references to Star Wars, Game of Thrones, JM Barrie’s original Peter Pan play and a few others (if you find them, drop by my ask box to fangirl if you want). A HUGE thank you to @jarienn972, @cocohook38 and @forestiyari for dealing with my indecisiveness and last minute changes.
@jarienn972 : You helped me hone my writing to tell a better story and I appreciate your work more than words can express. Thank you for also being a friendly ear when I ran into roadblocks not just with writing but life and encouraging me to make the right decisions for my story.
@cocohook38 : Your work for my story is so incredible. I have never had someone do original artwork for a story of mine and it was humbling. Merci beaucoup, mon ami.
@forestiyari : Both you and @cocohook38 being in different time zones was hard to manage but you were so patient with me and stayed up well past a normal hour for your time zone, all to complete your lovely, ethereal cover art that I’ve attached to this post. Thank you so much for being so accommodating and working with me to find the right way to introduce my story.
And finally to @ohmakemeahercules : Thank you for being my friend, cheerleader and back up beta reader through this whole process. I am truly glad we encouraged each other to do this project. Everyone else you MUST check out Kristen’s story here and my art for it here and here.
And without further ado…
Princess Emma of Misthaven was never permitted beyond the bounds of her parents’ kingdom; she had known this since she could remember. Her rational mind kept screaming at her that she shouldn’t have chosen tonight, All Hallow’s Eve, of all nights to test those bounds as an ominous feeling settled itself in the pit of her stomach. Emma shoved the thought down and argued that tonight was the perfect night as it was the full moon. Between the two converging events, Emma’s magic would be powerful enough for what she wished to accomplish.
Best friends. Colleagues. That’s what anthropology and archaeology professors Emma and Killian have been to each other for years, but sometimes old definitions and practices need to be revisited.
This is my contribution to the CSLB, and I’m so excited to share it with you all. This was definitely a labor of love for me. I’m also a big fan of the art @treluna2 did for this. And such a massive thanks to my glorious beta reader, @sambethe, without whom this would be just a silly heap of words.
8900+ words, rated M. Warnings include mentions of past relationships, alcohol consumption, and mild sexual content. On AO3.
(Background relationships include Outlaw Queen and Red Beauty.)
Emma pulled the two beers from her fridge, the glass from the bottles clinking together before she handed one to Killian. He was slumped into the cushions of her couch, head resting against its back.
“Thanks, love,” he said, cracking open one eye to peer up at her.
She plopped down next to him, giving him a look over. He was obviously exhausted, the skin below his eyes a little two purple and a small line was etched down his brow.
Exhaustion aside, though, he looked well. He was freshly back–as in had driven back into town less than 24 hours before–from directing field school this summer, and his work showed in his deep tan and well-defined muscles. Not that he was flabby in May, but a summer surveying and digging did a body good.
Ah, the beginning of the fall semester was always a grand time. Everyone was in peak condition from their summer field work and looked amazing, and while she and Killian might just be friends and colleagues, she still had eyes.
Summary: Mills Mechanics has made a fortune producing Compandroids, remarkably lifelike androids that are nearly indistinguishable from humans and designed to be a perfect companion for the wealthy people who commission them. Built to the specifications of their respective owners, Emma and Killian are no exception to this, but still find themselves drawn to each other in a way that defies all logical explanation or programming. Haunted by a sense of loss even when happily living their separate lives, their circumstances have them returned to the factory headquarters at the same time, and they are astounded to discover that the face they’ve fallen for in their dreams is that of a fellow robot. If two lovers are made to be together, can anything truly keep them apart? Do you need a soul to have a soulmate?
Author note: After months of work and stress, here it is, my contribution to the Captain Swan Little Bang 2018! What can I say? I love androids, and I’ve had this story kicking around in my head since at least 2016 or so, but just couldn’t find the time and inspiration to put it down in writing until joining the cslb gave me a deadline to push me through that block. I need to send a big thank you out to my amazingly supportive cslb beta, @branlovesouat and to @wordsmith-storyweaver and @krustybunny for their encouragement.

Just like that, She was everything. He didn’t know how else to express it. One moment he was just going through the motions as required and the next he felt. There was an awareness of her, that she was something beautiful, perfect, and rare. And she was looking at him the same way he was at her.
He heard a voice over the loudspeaker behind him, “Cognition is running on full auto and he’s attuned to the female.”
“Hey, there, buddy,” greeted the technician standing nearby with a tablet. “She is a stunner, isn’t she? Well, it’s your lucky day, cause I’m pretty sure she’s the one you’ll be paired with.”
The loudspeaker sounded again. “Looking that way. I’m just finishing up the compatibility studies but I don’t think we’ll have to get one out of storage. We can just test them together.”
“Should I wait to switch her over?”
“Nah I’m almost done here. You can go to physical and cognitive.”
He watched as the tech tapped various inputs into the tablet to turn the female’s automatic functions on, and marveled as she cocked her head and stared at him, mouth dropping open in surprise.
She’d never seen him before and yet, she had no doubt that he was the one. She didn’t know any truth more complete than that. His body, his heart, whatever he was, he was hers and she was his. God she needed to be with him- to know him, feel him and taste him.
The tech laughed at the two androids reactions, nudging the male with an elbow before turning to the female. “Looks like she’s into you too. Don’t go falling in love sweetheart. He’s just a fling.”
