CS Halloweek: Gothic – The Ghost of the Jolly Roger

In a castle by the sea a princess was born
And grew up on the tales told by her nurse
The legend of a ship and a crew, lost in a storm
Yet doomed to sail forever, bound by a curse

He would sing in her dreams, calling from the sea
The captain, the ghost, and his voice so sweet
My lass, my love, come away, sail with me
A hundred years I’ve waited, til the night we finally meet

The princess grew up, as children do
Left the nursery behind,
And bedtime tales too

They came from afar to seek her hand,
Princes and lords all down on bent knee
She was the fairest in all the land
With a heart that belonged to the sea

At last it came to pass, the night she must choose
Her suitors awaited, but in the light from the moon
A rowboat appeared, where the sea met the shore
And through the smoke and the fog, he called her once more

My lass, my love, come away, marry me

The ship sailed away, disappearing into the night
With the captain at the helm, and his bride gowned in white
